Not sure which service fits your store?
30-min founder-led call. We'll audit your store and recommend the right path. No sales pressure.
We design and build custom Shopify and Shopify Plus stores for brands that have outgrown a marketplace theme — a lean codebase, a checkout built to convert, and an app stack you actually control. 55+ ecommerce websites delivered worldwide.
Anyone can have a store live in a weekend. What most brands end up with two years later is a marketplace theme carrying twenty apps, a checkout nobody optimized, and a codebase no developer wants to touch.
Marketplace themes are built to demo well for thousands of stores, not to convert for yours. Every custom requirement becomes a workaround, and the workarounds become the site.
Each missing feature gets solved with another subscription. Twelve apps later you're paying hundreds a month, loading five extra scripts on every page, and nothing quite integrates.
The default flow is a starting point, not a finished product. Extra steps, no express payments, weak upsell logic — every friction point costs completed orders on traffic you already paid for.
Whether we’re building new or rebuilding an existing store, these decide whether Shopify scales with you or holds you back.
Your store isn't slow or rigid because it's Shopify. It's slow because of what was bolted onto it.
EcomOptix findings from Shopify rebuild and rescue projects.
Most stores we take over can be rebuilt on a lean custom theme in weeks — keeping every product, order and customer record intact, with redirects mapped so rankings survive the move.
The same engineering standard on every project — a 200-SKU DTC launch or a Shopify Plus store with wholesale channels and ERP sync.
A purpose-built theme structured around your catalog rather than bent from a template.
Speed designed in from the first commit and verified against real Core Web Vitals.
The checkout decides the revenue, so it gets engineered separately.
Your store has to talk to the rest of your business without manual work.
The same process we’ve run across 55+ ecommerce builds. You know what happens at every stage and what you need to provide.
A working session on your catalog, customers, integrations and commercial goals for the new store — before anyone talks about design.
Custom layouts built around your brand and how your customers actually shop — home, collection, product, cart and checkout.
We write the product and collection content, or build cleanly around copy you provide, with SEO structure applied from the start.
The build itself — custom theme, Shopify configuration, integrations, payments, shipping and performance work.
Full QA across devices and browsers, redirect mapping if you're migrating, then a controlled launch on your domain.
We train your team on running the store, monitor performance, and stay available for the growth work that follows.
Quoted upfront after the discovery call. Every Shopify development engagement includes all of this.
Outcomes from real Shopify build engagements. We report on conversion rate, load time and app cost — not awards and design language.
Results from real Shopify build engagements. Individual results vary by pre-build baseline, catalog, market and post-launch iteration.
Not every store needs a custom build. We audit first and tell you honestly when optimizing what you have beats rebuilding it — even when that answer costs us the project.
Three ways to get a Shopify store live. Here’s what each one actually gives you six months later.
✓ included · ● partial / depends · ✕ not covered
From a full custom build to a migration or a white-label partnership. Fixed scope and fixed price on all three.
A complete custom Shopify or Shopify Plus build: design, theme development, integrations, performance work and launch support.
Migration from WooCommerce, Magento or BigCommerce with products, customers and order history intact, and redirects mapped before launch.
We build under your agency's brand, NDA-backed, so you can sell Shopify projects without hiring a developer.
Replace these with your own verified client reviews before publishing.
“We came off a marketplace theme carrying 22 apps. The rebuild kept every product and order, and our checkout completion rate moved in the first month.”
“Product pages went from five seconds to under two on mobile. Same photography, same catalog — just built properly this time.”
“They talked us out of Shopify Plus and headless, which would have cost us far more. Seven weeks, launched on time, team trained at handover.”

We build online stores, not brochure sites. Every decision is judged against conversion rate, average order value and page speed.
We build a theme around your catalog instead of bending a marketplace template until it breaks under your requirements.
55+ ecommerce sites launched worldwide across Shopify, Shopify Plus and WooCommerce, in categories from beauty and apparel to wholesale.
Documented code, clean admin and a trained team — because your store has to outlive the build, not depend on us forever.
Shopify development is a different discipline from general web design. A brochure site has ten pages and no transactions; a Shopify store generates thousands of URLs from products, variants, collections and tags — each one a ranking asset or a crawl problem — and every millisecond between a tap and a paint has a measurable cost at checkout. We build stores that treat the catalog as an SEO structure and the checkout as a conversion system, because those are the two places Shopify projects quietly fail.
A marketplace theme plus a page builder gets you live quickly and charges you for it every month afterwards — in load time, app subscriptions, and developer hours spent fighting someone else’s abstraction. Custom Shopify development means a lean theme containing only the code your store uses, so pages render faster, Core Web Vitals hold, and the next developer can read what’s there. You keep full ownership of the theme, with no licence tying you to an agency or a template vendor.
Shopify Plus earns its cost when you need checkout scripts, B2B or wholesale channels, multiple storefronts, or serious API limits — not because a salesperson suggested it. Headless and Hydrogen make sense when your content or app layer genuinely demands a decoupled front end, and they add real complexity when it doesn’t. Most brands doing $30K–$300K/month are better served by a clean custom theme on standard Shopify. We’ll tell you which one you actually need. It pairs directly with our Shopify SEO, speed optimization and Shopify migration services.
Straight answers on cost, timelines, migration risk, Shopify Plus, and what happens after launch.
It depends on catalog size, integrations and how much is custom versus configured — a 200-SKU DTC store is a very different build from a Shopify Plus store with wholesale channels and ERP sync. We quote a fixed price after the discovery call, so you have the number before committing. No hourly billing and no mid-project scope surprises.
Most builds run 6–10 weeks from kickoff to launch: discovery and design in the first two to three weeks, development in the middle, then QA, migration and launch. Larger catalogs, custom checkout logic or complex integrations extend that, and we tell you upfront rather than halfway through.
Yes. We migrate products, variants, customers and order history from WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce or custom platforms, and we map every existing URL to its new destination with redirects live at launch. Protecting your existing rankings is part of the build, not an optional extra — most traffic loss in migrations comes from skipping exactly this step.
Usually not. Plus makes sense for checkout customization, B2B and wholesale channels, multiple storefronts, or high API volume. If none of those apply, standard Shopify with a well-built custom theme does the same job for a fraction of the monthly cost. We’ll tell you when Plus isn’t worth it, even though the smaller build is a smaller project for us.
Completely. The store, the theme code and the domain are yours, with no proprietary framework or licence tied to us. You get documented code and a backup at handover, so you can move to another developer at any time without rebuilding anything.
Only if you specifically want to keep editing that way. Our default is a custom theme with reusable sections, because builder apps add significant weight to every page load. You still get drag-and-drop editing through Shopify’s native section system — without the performance cost.
We audit what each app costs in load time and subscription fees, then give you the data. Many can be replaced with custom Liquid permanently, some can be deferred, and some genuinely earn their place. The decision stays yours — we make sure it’s informed.
You get a team training session, documented code, an admin guide and 30 days of post-launch support. After that, most clients continue with SEO or CRO work, some take a maintenance retainer, and some run it in-house. All three are fine by us.
Tell us about your catalog, your integrations and where your current store is holding you back. You’ll get a clear scope, a fixed quote and an honest view of whether a rebuild is the right move — even if the answer is no.
